pride

Boston is full of the strongest pride. Everyone here is proud to say where they are from and represent our strong city. I used to cheerlead for a Boston team and the feeling we used to get for representing our home town was amazing.
As a competitions began the feeling of pure excitement overwhelmed my squad.
When our routine was over we ran off the mat into our Boston raised coaches arms excited in hope we had done as well as we felt we had to represent our town well. We stepped off the mat got whiffs of what smelled like the most amazing burger in the world because we hadn't eaten anything since we left Southie 7 hours ago, it was no Sullys but it was pretty damn good. After we ate we heard the announcers say that the last squad was on deck. When their cheer is finished we ran onto the mat sure that everyone could hear us chanting “Who are we? SOUTHIE! How do we feel? FIRED UP! What do we do? WIN!” It was time for awards and it was starting to feel real. Our Boston pride was showing as we wanted to crush the suberbs and get our butts to Disney world because no squad from South Boston Pop Warner cheerleading ever had made it that far. Finally the announcer said  “Your first place champions are South Boston!”

I remember this moment and think about our chant and how great it was. We were constantly against the taunten tigers who may have been better then us but we would never admit because we decided ling long ago we were better just because we are southie and they are taunten. The pride mattered, it showed, and it was why we won. GOBOSTON

Home

Boston is home. I love it here. It is going to be incredible hard to leave this amazing city for college but I know it will be good for me to have a new experience.
I remember when I was little and my family would make me go on vacations to places like New Hampshire and it was hell. I couldnt deal with the hicks or the bugs or the trees or the lack or Bostonians. I wanted to go home back to Southie and never leave my town again. But here I am, senior year ready to go. I am ready to see the out side world of insects and possible hell to find what is so intreging about it to other people. Boston is obviously amazing, but maybe the other places are too, just less obviously.

You know you are from Boston when...
you are actually from Boston and not one of the surrounding suburbs
you really do say wicked, this isn't just a cliche
all of your pets are names after Sox, Celts or pats players
you put jimmies on your ice cream not sprinkles
you wear cheaters to see better
you go to a time not a fundraiser
you can handle snow like a man, none of this shutting down for the entire winter non-sense (that is you Quincy figure it out)
you think you are better than anyone from any other city
Soda is club soda. Pop is Dad. If it's fizzy and flavored, it's tonic.

You know you aren't from Boston when
You think the accent is the craziest thing ever... no i will not tell you where i parked my car
"Worchester" do your self a favor and don't sound it out
You cross at a cross walk
You call the T the subway
 You don't know what jimmies

Do's and Dont's

When in Boston there are some things you should and shouldn't do.
If you must do the basic tourist things, go for it, like visit the top of the hub, walk the freedom trail and the Museum of FIne Arts. But these just aren't that exciting I must warn you.
The most important things are the small town luxuries that the real Bostonian hold dear to our hearts.
First things first learn the towns. Know the difference between and real Bostonian and that guy that grew up in the "greater Boston area" and insists he knows what he is talking about. Don't listen to him, he is wrong.

Come to Southie and walk Castle Island, but do not forget to go to Sullys and stop taking pictures of planes, it's just a plane , get over it.
Go to Modern Pastry in the north end or Cafe Victoria, do not waste your time in the line of Mike's Pastry, no matter how famous.
Get your butt to Fenway park and see a game, scream as loud as you can even if you aren't really sure what is happening and get a hot dog.

For god sake keep your mouth shut about the surrounding peoples accents. They just arent that exciting and it is so unnecessary to call it out, you are in Boston, people are going to have Boston accents. If you think the way we talk is odd, go home you will feel more comfortable there I promise.
Dont call it bean-town, you sound dumb
Dont run around with a back pack like an idiot, there will be another bus. for some reason out of towners always seem to be running around with large backpacks.
Dont jump out of your skull when you hear a bomb at sunset, its just the townies relax its tradition.
If you are "so excited to see snow" pick up a shovel
if you move my safe saver in the winter i will key your car. I am not a bad person this is just where your actions have gotten you

BOSTON Sports

New England Patriots remain undefeated in the current season. Must be rough to not be a Pats fan right about now. New England sports are on a constant streak of awesome. I mean come on, whether you are into baseball, hockey, soccer Boston is clearly the best at everything. In one decade, Boston teams won seven championships. That is one in every major sport. Take that New York!

        New England
     Patriots
(8-0)
New York
Giants
(5-4)
